Home Inspection Frequently Asked Questions

Practical guidance to help you make safer property and project decisions

Buying or selling property in Costa Rica comes with risks. A home inspection helps you make informed decisions.

Understanding how inspections work and why standards matter makes a real difference. Here are the most common questions we receive.

What is a home inspection?

A home inspection is a visual evaluation of a property’s accessible systems and components.
It helps identify defects, safety concerns, and potential future issues.

Why is a home inspection important in Costa Rica?

Costa Rica has a tropical climate and diverse construction practices.

Humidity, rain, and coastal conditions can affect roofs, structures, and moisture levels.
Some issues are not visible during a short visit.

This is why international inspection standards play an important role.

Who performs the inspection?

All inspections are performed by licensed professionals led by Rodrigo Altmann, CEO and Founder of Synergy Consulting.

Our inspectors are registered with the CFIA in Costa Rica and trained under InterNACHI Standards of Practice.
